From a 16 oz. can into a Willi Becher style glass, this beer pours out a beautiful stream of clear brown. It forms in the glass rather dark brown with beautiful highlights while two fingers worth of peanut colored crown rest on top.
The nose brings a cold brew coffee presence; silky, roasty and creamy mixing with oats, chocolate, slight touch of spice and a brown sugar sweetness.
The taste brings a milky chocolate tangling with brown sugar and oats. Some nuttiness and caramel. The coffee presence is beautiful; roasty, silky and creamy. It remains a constant player in this beer but doesn’t over dominate the true nature of the base.
Silky, roasty, creamy and full bodied for the style.
Overall, this is really a great brown. Stays true to the style and adds a nice affect. Great beer.

A: Pours an opaque yet still relatively clear extremely dark cola brown approaching jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate chestnut brown + garnet red + chocolate brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering a little more than 75% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of dark + toasted + caramel + roasted malts with moderate amounts of caramel + molasses + brown sugar sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of coffee and light aromas of cinnamon. Hints of earthy hop aromas.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of dark + toasted + caramel + roasted malts with moderate amounts of caramel + molasses + brown sugar sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of coffee and light flavors of cinnamon. Finally there are hints of earthy hops. Light to moderate amounts of roasty + hoppy bitterness which fades away leaving lingering brown sugar + molasses sweetened coffee lingering.
M: Just shy of full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a hint of alcohol warming in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Really nice flavor + aroma additions to a fairly robust brown ale - really enjoyable.
