West Coast IPA. We resurrected this hoppy boi with the help of brewing wizards from New Anthem. Brewed with 2-Row, Carapils, and Crystal 20. Hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial, Chinook, and Columbus.

A: Pours s crystal clear medium yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foam white head that reduces to a large patch of thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit, and pine/resin hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of bready + toasted + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of bready + toasted + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit, and pine/resin hops which impart a moderate amount of aggressive bitterness which lingers well through the finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp upfront with a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a nice crisp refreshing mouthfeel. Enjoyable throwback example of a West Coast IPA - great flavors and aromas from the classic hops as well as a lighter malt body. I could definitely have a couple of these.

A fantastic example of the west-coast style IPA!! Hoppy, slightly dry and dank, hits every note perfectly!! A rare find here in the tar-heel state since most seem to go more malty...not saying that in a bad way, it’s just not the “west-coast” way...which IMHO, is where the style originated!
