Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 2/9/24.
Appearance: dark golden hue, though not quite brown, with a moderate haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop. Perhaps a little dark, but definitely lighter than a “dark mild ale”, in my experience.
Smell: a nicely rich malty flavor whose primary note is that of caramel. Surprisingly rich for such a low-ABV beer; kinda like a light Scotch ale.
Taste: much like the aroma this reminds me of a Scotch ale or wee heavy, but much lighter in ABV and general intensity. But the rich malt flavor is there — I’m a fan!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: it’s a rare example of a pale mild ale that we get here in the USA. If you’re looking for something light and refreshing, yet rich in malty flavor, it’d be hard to go wrong with this beer.

I would have called this an English Mild Dark Ale (the can refers to it as an English Mild Ale), but in any case, this is a good session beer!! Poured into a pint glass from a 16 oz can, this beer features a clear dark copper color with a very small white head and minimal lacing. Aroma and taste include some slightly sweet malt and some mild bitterness. Very well done!!! Mouthfeel is light and crisp, more malty than hoppy. Very smooth, goes down easy!!! Good flavor for such a light beer.
