Poured from a 2014 22oz bottle into a snifter.
Appearance - impenetrable black with carbonation bubbling at the surface. Uber thin caramel head that leaves little lacing.
Smell - a bit sweet with a touch of oak. I pick up some raisin, black cherry and a hint of toffee.
Taste - interesting flavor profile with roasted coffee, chocolate covered cherry and a hint of oaky vanilla!
Feel - creamy, full body with a touch of earthy bitterness and a bit of booze on the finish!
Overall - a very nice pick up, but I prefer the original WUD; which surprised me, because I tend to prefer the oak or barrel aged offerings of other imperial stouts.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter.
Pours a fairly dark brown, hazy, with a small, quickly dissipating head and a lingering foamy ring. Smell starts with lots of oak, then roasted malts, some chocolate, a little smokiness. Some vanilla as it warms. Taste leads with the roasted malts- more roasty than the smell, chocolate, oak, more vanilla than the nose. Smooth, creamy, well carbonated.
Have had Wake Up three different ways now, and they're all good. Very flavorful, with lots of oak. Certainly worth a purchase.
