On tap. Poured a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of coffee, toffee and pine. Nice roasted coffee taste with caramel and a pine hop bitterness.

I love that it's a coffee ale with the right flavor notes, but without being too heavy. I enjoyed this at an Old Chicago in Coralville, Iowa and will be sad to see our exclusive beer go once the keg is empty.
Tip: mix 1/3 de'nile with 2/3 LH milk stout for an iced milk and coffee flavored beer. Delicious!

I don't normally review beers I have while out (just rate for my own reference) but this beer had so few reviews and stood out as so unique to me I had to jot down a few notes. I had this on draft at Old Chicago in Wichita, KS. This Old Chicago exclusive is a wonderful oddity. I have never had a coffee infused beer that wasn't a stout/porter so maybe I'm a bit naive here but I found this beer to be delicious. It was nicely hopped with a fair amount of bitterness appropriate for an ale (not quite IPA level but a good pale ale hoppiness). The coffee taste and smell really does shine through though.

I had the 23 oz on tap at Old Chicago last night for $5.75.

Beer came golden and served with a nice head.

Nose was of fresh hops and coffee.

Taste melded surprisingly well. The hop finish had a nice citrus pine flavor that somehow melded nicely with a very nice touch of coffee.

Mouthfeel was medium bodied and decently carbonated for more of a refreshing feel.

Overall this was much better than anticipated. I have only had a few coffee APA/IPA beers and this was definitely the best one. Give it a shot if you like coffee and bitter hops!
