Fan of LH Nitros, and no where does it work better than in Scottish Ale, esp a tame one like this.
Nitro bottle poured into a 16oz cup at my ferry bottega.
a) Pours near opaque cola brown that sports a lumpy, sustaining, creamy khaki head that laces massively.
s) Too faint, but good, with the expected notes from toasted dark bread malt, dark fruit, peat fire, and wood smoke.
t)Follows the smell but more fresh baked, inviting bread shop malt, smoke, church pew incense, dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, and sweet hints of dark fruit.
f) Never cloying. The nitro adds to the pleasing feel.
o) I'd drink this often. Great series. Try 12.

A- This one pours with a nice looking lazy caramel colored head and of course it is thick and fluffy, with excellent retention! The brew itself is rather clear looking, is bronze/red hued and has very fine carbonation rising to the top! Lacing is good as well with thick clusters sticking to the side of the glass.....I question the robustness as the transparency concerns me.....
S- Smooth creamy chocolate malt bar, some caramel toffee sweetness, biscuit like bread/yeast, hints of roasted nut and most definitely toasty red malt, cooked brown sugar and smoky vanilla robustness.
T- The flavors are weak in general which is a bit of a letdown, but there is some nuttiness, milky chocolate, vanilla, toasted malt, caramel and toffee, all balanced out by a quick clean finish that has some mild hop bitterness and a bit of a lingering smoked almond.....
M/O- Light with nuances leaning toward medium bodied and the nitro carbonation does provide a very pleasant and smooth carbonation and the drinkability factor is rather high, seeing as this is so muted overall in terms of character...it just has a watered down personality that I do believe Left Hand can improve on big time. I don't think it's a bad beer by any means but I don't think I'd be missing out by not having this one again.....good starter brew!

Pours a dark copper color with a huge cascading off-white head. Basically looks like a root beer float. The head just kinda sits there like a foamy turd.
The aroma is light but pleasant. There's a fair amount of caramel and toasted grains. There's a hint of brown sugar and toffee as well as the foggiest idea of dark fruits.
The taste follows the nose. Bready and grainy, with plenty of caramel. Finishes faintly tart and fruity.
The feel is typical of a nitro beer, though perhaps a bit more watery.
Overall, a pretty solid ale that's refreshing and flavorful. That's about it. Nothing special. Would still drink again.

Left Hand Brewing simply never disappoints...
This was a very tasty nitro, a beautiful looking beer in the pint glass and a decent bready smell. Mouthfeel was a bit watery, but it did it was also sessionable to the tongue. The taste was what will be most memorable to me for this brew - slightly sweet, malty, bready, truly a flavorful beer. I will definitely look for these in the future.

Aroma is sweetish caramel and slightly grainy malts. The flavor is caramel, slightly grainy malts, mild fruit and a mix of sweet and very mild tart in the finish.
