Our chocolatey marshmallow treat has caught fire! To create this s’more, we start with our classic Milk Stout recipe with just a slight tweak to the malt bill to accentuate graham cracker flavors. For the melted chocolate magic, we pour in Cholaca® pure liquid cacao. Then, to capture the gooey core of a perfectly fire-roasted marshmallow, we layer in toasted marshmallow. With your first pour, drink in the sounds of a crackling fire, the glow of fireflies and the warmth of a shared blanket. Then, crack another can and enjoy s’more!

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a very dark brown color that has some deep ruby/amber highlights around the edges when held up to the light. Has a light brown/tan head that's very creamy/frothy looking when poured, as it is well over an inch thick when first poured. Settles eventually to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass. Barely any lacing at all here. Aromas of cocoa and some toasted marshmallow are present along w/ some graham cracker and a very slight hint of cinnamon and some smoked malts. Flavor profile is very similar, with roasted, smoked malts, cocoa, toasted marshmallow, graham cracker, and a slight hint of cinnamon. Also a light note of earthy, resinous, hops. Has a fairly crisp, yet smooth, somewhat frothy, also slightly oily and just slightly gritty, medium bodied mouthfeel with light to moderate carbonation. A nice beer overall here.

Solid milk stout from a brewer that I like. Decent coloration and scent to go along with a very good taste. I'm glad I still have a couple of these around.

APPEARANCE: Deep brown, with ruby highlights and a smallish khaki head. Little lace.

NOSE: Graham and chocolate. Subtle.

TASTE: Roasty cocoa, marshmallow, and a little bit of graham cracker. I get some cola notes in there. Okay.

This one is more stout forward than it implies. Dark brown in appearance with a frothy tan head. The cacao and toasted marshmallow are present in the aroma as they are brewed into the beer. I'm not picking up toasted graham cracker though it makes sense as they altered their malt in place of actual graham cracker, and as such it seems to manifest as a more smoky maltiness in this stout. It has the added effect of increasing the bitter lingering in the aftertaste a bit as well. The taste is mostly that of a smoky malt, with chocolate syrup notes becoming more prominent as it warms, and the toasted marshmallow coming back a bit on the aftertaste.

Well somewhat disappointed with this one, pretty much a add average Milk Stout nothing special at all.
No real nose and a weak taste. No S'mores flavors at all.

From the shoulder of the bottle, in yellow ink: "Best by:05/19/2022"

Appearance: It is dark brown and appears mostly black except where some light creeps through. The head is large and pillowy with a light tan hue. It has a creamy textured head that has very good retention and leaves nice creamy sheets and wisps on the glass.

Aroma: There is a very faint aroma of burnt wood and an extremely faint aroma of baker's chocolate.

Taste: Up front there is a pleasant chocolate flavor. It tastes a bit like a tootsie roll. There is a light carbon flavor towards the middle along with the same chocolate. It stays this way to the back of the palate and into the aftertaste. It tastes like a pretty average chocolate stout but the chocolate flavor is nice.

Mouthfeel: It rests firmly as a medium-bodied beer with mild burnt bitterness and good carbonation.

Overall: The label states that this contains "Ingredients: Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, rolled oats, lactose, wheat, cacao, hops, toasted marshmallow flavor, yeast." The marshmallow flavor doesn't come through at all but the cacao does and it is nice, although it tastes more like tootsie roll than cacao. Although it is missing a bit of advertised flavor it is a pretty good chocolate stout. I probably wouldn't pick it up over some of the other alternatives on the market but I wouldn't turn it down either. It's worth trying if you want a chocolate stout.

Hints of chocolate, graham crackers, marshmallows, & coffee flavors. Overall, not bad, but also not the best I’ve tried.

Pours a standard nearly black ruby/garnet color with a tan head that leaves lots of pretty lacing around the glass. The smell is weaker than expected with small hints of chocolate and graham crackers. The taste is also very mild with that cinnamon graham cracker up front gate fades into a rich chocolate/toffee stout flavor with zero acrid bitterness in the after taste. It goes down very smoothly and isn't overly sweet or heavy, so I could drink a few of these back to back no problem. Overall not the best milk stout, but it's very easy to drink and have a few in a row. The nearly absent bitterness would probably make it ideal for those that haven't tried stouts yet or for people that aren't huge fans of darker beers.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip

A- pours black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that reduces to a ring

S- smells of roasted and charred malt, chocolate, coffee, milk sugars, burnt bread crust and a hint of vanilla

T- sweet chocolate up front is followed by notes of charred malt and bread crusts. Mid-palate gives some sweet milk sugars, as well as a hint of marshmallow. The finish gives more chocolate with tome char sticking around on the linger

M- medium-light body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a slightly creamy finish

Bottle poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours dark hazelnut brown with a frothy tawny brown head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Roasty, chocolate, coffee, earthy, a touch of char, dark sugar, a hint of marshmallow, herbal notes, a bit nutty, and a touch of graham cracker.

T: Roasty, earthy, a touch of char, dark chocolate coffee, dark sugar, a little marshmallow slowly works it's way forward, slightly nutty, and a touch of graham cracker.

M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly creamy.

O: As just a stout in front of me, it's not bad, but it doesn't necessarily scream s'mores. I think if they lightened up the malt and added a touch of vanilla it probably would have come across a bit better.

Brew: Left Hand Brewing Company – S'mores Milk Stout

Intro: 12 oz. can poured into a tulip glass. Shared with a friend.

Appearance: Pitch black, Minimal head maybe .5 inches. Minimal lacing as I drank

Smell: Chocolate, vanilla, and not much else.

Taste: Follows the smell. Hard presses to taste either marshmallow or gram cracker.

Mouthfeel: Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Drink: very mediocre. Very forgettable experience

Conclusion: Definitely one and done. Lacked the depth and flavor of a well crafted drink.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of graham cracker, chocolate, toasted marshmallow and caramel. Nice sweet taste with marshmallow, chocolate and subtle vanilla.
