Aromas of dark & milk chocolate, roasted coffee, fig, and wood smoke. Flavors of chile & vanilla with notes of dried fruit, bourbon, and oak.

Every sip tells a story.

Brewed for that time of year when the light seems to fade away and we drift further into darkness with each passing day. Fade to Black is complex, smoky, and rich, an optimal canvas for barrel-aging. We turn up the heat on this smoldering Foreign-Style Stout with smoked and dried guajillo, chipotle, and serrano chiles along with vanilla bean and cocoa nibs. Layers of complex flavors seamlessly coalesce, reminiscent of a Mexican chocolate truffle.

Aged 11 months in American bourbon barrels. Aromas of dark and milk chocolate, roasted coffee, fig, and wood smoke. On the palate, flavors of chile and vanilla with notes of dried fruit, bourbon, and oak. A noticeable heat lingers throughout its warming finish.

Jet black body with a thin yet persistent head. Nice roasted grain smell with a dose of raw chili pepper; sweet cocoa. The taste begins with a moderate milk chocolate sweetness then explodes with fiery chili pepper flavors; low-key vanilla. Heavy body; silky; tons of chili pepper heat.

The chili pepper flavor and heat are most impressive with this beer. The base beer is awesome enough with its slick, sugary sweetness and roasted grain overtones. Together, these elements create a wonderful, monstrous dark beer, rich and fiery.
