On tap at Left Hand. Pours a fairly-dark brown, bordering on black. Some roast and mild bitterness. Plain, but good for the ABV. A bit thin; maybe a higher mash temp.

A mild ale is just what the doctor ordered. On-tap at the source itself, on to the beer:
This mild ale is dark brown colored with red hues, a short head on top, and some stringy lace sticking ot the glass. The nose offers good signs to the taste, whereas aromas of maple and brown sugar rise from the beer. It doesn't get that good with the flavor, which essentially is only slightly sweet. Like molasses sweet. Rather low in flavor, even for a mild ale. The body is light, and carbonation makes a good impression.
Bard's Ale is a decent mild ale. Not my favorite, but I would rather drink many glasses of this at a party than something like Coors Light.

A: some lacing and a single finger head. I accidently did not record the color of this one in my notes.
S: musty, smokey and some roast. Grass notes as well
T: smore in beer form is what I am getting. Graham cracker, roast, toasted malt and marshmallow.
M: full body and thick texture with moderate carbonation.
Overall: This is a unique beer. I have had English Dark ales and this is added as a mild dark which would make sense from my experience so I assume it is relatively close to the typical beer in this genre.

appearance - looks thin. half inch head. not impressive lacing. only really ordered this as i wasnt in the mood for getting too tipsy.
smell - lots of malt here, slightly roasted malts, slightly chocolate malts, slightly water
taste - pretty good. goes with the nose, a bit of grass. not as light as i was afraid of.
mouthfeel - not as thin feeling as it looks. medium to light carbonation might help this. very drinkable.
