Wasserhund Brewing Co. "Getting Figgy With It"
on tap at the brewery on 19 June 2017
Notes: 6.5% ABV. Very dark brown, almost black, with clear brown, orange, and golden highlights at the base of the glass. Its creamy tan head shows good retention and average lacing. In the nose fig rises above dark malt that suggests dark caramel and light chocolate. The flavor delivers even fuller fig, and it's very nicely balanced within the cloak of malt that surrounds it, livening it, and adding a slightly tart note as well. That subtle tartness then helps its median bitterness to bring it to a dry finish with some subtle dark malt roastiness coming through as the malt slowly fades. Medium bodied and smooth. Unique and interesting. An excellent pairing of fruit to beer style.
