This is a favorite style of mine. So I've tried a number of craft Altbiers (and the originals from Germany, albeit in cans or bottles). That said, this one looked like it should. Deep, shiny copper in the glass. Beautifully rich color. Caramel in the nose, but surprisingly less sweet than many crafts of the style. In fact, this one was closer to the German style than others I've tried. Very pleasant (and very balanced) flavor profile that, once warmed, stayed true to the style and didn't turn sweet. (Thank you bittering hops!) As with the other Wasserhund varieties I've tried, this one was a winner.

From the pint can, it pours a caramel colored amber with a nice off-white head that slowly reduces. The nose gets caramel and spicy scents. The mouth gets a caramel and slightly roasted malt flavor.
