Poured from a mini-growler into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy golden amber with a one finger white head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops (yeah…Mosaic), mango, lemon, orange and apricot. Flavor is neutral malt, citrus hops, lemon and grapefruit rind, very light tropical fruit and light stone fruit. Flavor thins out into a resinous, citrus rind finish with lingering rind bitterness. Medium bodied with sharp carbonation. The malt and flavor profile lean more towards a pale ale profile, although this is listed as an IPA by the brewery. A good presentation of the Mosaic hops, although the aroma is much more complex than the taste. Nice cloudy fresh hop look and fresh, herbal hop flavors with a nice level of bitterness. With a little more of the tropical and stone fruit notes from the aroma in the flavor, this would have been more of a stand-out IPA. Well made, freshly hopped and flavorful, but could have used a little more robustness in the malt for my taste.
