Destin Brewery

 

Visited on a Saturday afternoon in the off-season. Cute little taproom and outdoor deck a block off of Hwy 98, the main drag in this beach resort town. Small and nothing fancy, but very welcoming and local in feel. Servers were more chatty than efficient, but hard to complain about them when they were so nice. There was an acoustic guitarist performing on the deck on a nice winter evening.

There were 15-20 of their own taps (but probably about 6 were tapped out), along with a couple of regional guests. They definitely cater to a Bud/Miller/Coors tourist crowd, with all beers mainstream and middle of the road. (Never seen 4 blonde ales on tap anywhere before!) However, they all were well made and seemed to hit what the brewer intended, so hats off to him or her. Beach Camp Brewing a few blocks away has a better selection, but that taproom seems to be closed for the season, so this was a good place to stop instead.

 

 

Most beers were good. The red IPA fell flat. Very non-descript place with a few patrons there on a lazy Wednesday afternoon. Overall, worth a stop.
