Sori Brewing comes by ways of northern Estonia, making it the first Estonian beer of our adventure. The offering is one of their Shadow Game variants, Mexican chocolate cake. The beer is extremely well balanced with a great medium body. There is the soft chocolate sweetness, right amount of barrel, and even the additions are in harmony. This is the most chili stout I have had, it actually delivers on that spicy punch. I am very impressed with Sori and look forward to finding more.

IPA out at dinner, stout sitting here watching videos on YouTube on the big screen (currently the peerless Nothing But Thieves). 12 oz. bottle.
Black with scarce a bubble even on a hard pour with a nose that brings heat & little else.
Shadow Game IV heat! Plenty of peppery, chili heat up front that manages not to drown the base beer. Cocoa is prominent with cinnamon hot on its heels & bourbon to light to cool things down.
Maybe I’m getting old. I’ve loved hot food – and hot beer – for many, many years but this is the second straight hot beer that’s settled into my gut & started stirring things in a rather loud manner within minutes of the liquid going into my mouth. I won’t penalize it for my weak constitution. Pretty good brew.

Shimmering black with a finger of tan foam. Smell features the peppers, bourbon, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is much the same for the first two thirds, pepper and booze heat and vanilla coolness balance well, but then the finish has harsh barrel with heavily roasted malt that crush the ending. Feel is hotter from the barrel and peppers, not as balanced as the smell or taste, thinner body after initial lushness. Better options out there
