Motor oil pour with a thin mocha head

The nose is a lot on the almond/cherry, the coffee is very refined, not that roasty but quite present.

The taste follows, the bourbon is there a bit warming, surrounding and balancing the whole thing.

The mouthfeel is thick but not syrupy.

They've really managed to do wonders with this series!

Almond and Holmen Coffee aged in Heaven & Hill bourbon barrels

APPEARANCE: Black pour yields a 1+ finger, medium looking, super fizzy tan head with okay retention. Head fizzes down to a full cap rather quickly, then eventually down to a swirly wisp and ring. Black body and slightly higher levels of carbonation evident. A slight ring remains but leaves no lacing. Head is insanely fizzy and it's a bit too carbonated for the style.

SMELL: Red cool aid.

TASTE: This has a lot of the red cool aid character too. Whisky and cool aid up front, with a bit of a nut character. Some booze and cherry cool aid at the swallow, with a bold finish of sweet cherries, some nutty flavors, notes of bitter coffee and some boozy whisky as well. Really gotta think creatively when it comes to that coffee addition though.

PALATE: Medium body and carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine with a bit of a burn and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. Solid amount of heat lingers.

OVERALL: I actually thought about buying the whole set at 10 euro a pop, but thought I'd try one out first to see if it was worth it. The store owner said I should try this one, as it was his favorite. Well, tastes differ I guess. Come to think of it, he never said this one was good, only that it was his favorite of the five. It is possible to like something less than this. Anyways, nothing against red Cool Aid but that’s all I could think about with this beer. No thank you.
