Amante Brew Company

I visited Amante Brew Company a few weeks ago during a day trip to Mexicali. They've got a welcoming taproom with warm wood accents and a cozy feel, with an industrial touch. Service is friendly and helpful and my extremely broken Spanish was not a problem (that is, the bartender's English was pretty good). There's a beer garden out back with a food truck, and they also have bar snacks and pizza and stuff in the taproom.

There were a dozen or so beers on tap when I visited, plus a couple hard seltzers and a root beer. Styles included a "golden stout", red ale, porter (on both CO2 and nitro), Belgian strong dark ale, session IPA, passionfruit Berliner weissbier, blonde ale, mandarin blonde ale, Czech pilsner, light lager, and an Oktoberfest collaboration with Ícono (also in Mexicali). All the beers I had from them were decent enough, if not exactly excellent. One of these days I would like to hit up Mexicali again, though, with time to try more of what they have on offer.
