July 28th, 2015 - Plow is yet another brewery on my Northern California pilgrimage, and I start the visit with Steelshares. It’s a rust colored brew with a nice clarity, and smells of heavy fruits in perfect accordance. The flavor is similarly well composed, with herbal touches of sage and thyme, carrots, and even cucumbers. It is a sort of salad or soup, but as a beer, and delicious.

This is a good, pretty well-balanced, IPA that is pretty easy to drink. It has a pale amber colour, smallish off-white head that slowly diminishes. Aroma and taste have some toasty maltiness with spicy-grassy hop, hints of citrus. Bitterness is not intense but just dominant, firm but restrained, and there is enough light sweetness to character to carry it well.
