A: Near perfect clarity casts only the faintest of diffusions against a coppery backdrop; there is some sediment in suspension, but otherwise near perfect. Light blanket of foam that nestles the beer nicely in a cocoon of khaki froth. Minimal to no lacing.
A: Whiffs of toffee and brown sugar, ut the sweetness and candied character carry complementing notes of rye malt, black cherries, (caramel) apples, and a tinge of red licorice. Earthy sandalwood, spiciness of white pepper, dried orange peels, and a dash of soft coriander.
M: Malty and semi-rich. Stays that way despite the dry spice of rye and the raciness of carbonation.
T: Not to be reductionist, but the flavor really pops like one big handful from a mini Twizzler variety pack. Deeper down I pick out the drawn out sweetness delicious brown sugar and toffee. Hiding just beneath, like a flounder in there sand, are the fruit flavors of apples, figs, and raisins. Racy red wine flavors are slim but do offer vinous taste to usher in a spicy and earthy sweetness of cinnamon and clove.
One very harmonious beer.
