De Labirratorium. En copa Teku. Jugando a Los Pilares de la Tierra. Su cuerpo engaƱa pues hace que parezca ligera, pero al beberla el whisky se le nota bastante y resulta alcoholica. No noto la madera

On-draught @ The Stuyck Co. Served into a teku.
Laphroaig barrel aged imperial stout.
HEAD: Creamy as hell, with a great coating soft even consistency. Retention is quite good for the ABV - ~7-9 minutes. Leaves no lacing as the head recedes.
BODY: Opaque solid black. No yeast/lees or sediment is visible.
AROMA: Exquisite cream, milk chocolate, chocolate malts, dark malt sweetness, vanilla, maybe a blip of coconut.
I find no whisky/Laphroaig character whatsoever. To style, this lacks any noticeable hop character or overt yeast.
Aromatic intensity is average.
TASTE & TEXTURE: After such a nice aroma, the taste is disappointing. Supported weakly by a thin, almost watery mouthfeel, the flavour profile offers a shallow dark malt Sweetness on the open, which is joined by equally shallow notes of cream, chocolate, and malted milk balls/Whoppers in the second act.
Creamy, smooth, and wet. A more robust mouthfeel with more dryness and coarseness would be ideal.
Disappointingly simple, delivering neither whisky barrel complexity nor an intricate base beer character. The aroma promised so much more.
OVERALL: It's fine. Those hoping for a peaty Laphroaig whisky barrel stout will be hugely let down, and those in the mood for a balanced but intricate imperial stout will need to look elsewhere. A lackluster attempt at the imperial stout style.
