Thanks to Andrea, Vicki, and PC for procuring this 6-Pac for me.

A - Little white foam, pale golden color, little visibility through unfiltered yeast, and no legs.

S - Heavy peach overtones dominate the smell, with light ester and apricot.

T - Very peachy, banana, cloves, and all-spice. No ester in taste. Very sweet.

M - Light carbonation tingles on the tongue, no alcohol feel, quite refreshing.

D - Perfect for a summer day or working in the yard. Very drinkable for a witt beer. Would pair well with a salad or fried food.

Into a pint mug, this beer is a cloudy straw-gold color, with a smallish head. Aroma is citrus-fruity with a little bit of soapiness. Nice flavor: the taste of wheat comes through clearly; there's a moderate coriander spiciness; tart orangey citrus flavor is distinct and yummy. All the appropriate wit characters are present, and it's quite drinkable as well.

This is the first Spanish Peaks beer I've had that's been to style and has been really tasty to boot.

Pours a cloudy light golden. Thin head, not much retention and just a bit of lacing. Smell is of fruit and spice. Body is light to medium, with a bit of carbonation. Taste is all orange up front, with a tart, spicy finish. Refreshing. You will want more than one!

A hazy pale gold. Hints of citrus and yeast in the nose, with faint spicy notes. Orange zest at first taste, mellowing into a slightly peppery spiced finish. Fairly thin mouthfeel, lightly carbonated and smooth drinking. A sixer of this brew would be a great addition to warm weather fun. Another good Grocery Outlet find.

Very smooth, creamy, White Ale. I think I like this one, dare I say, more than Interbrew's HG. The head on this thing was quite nice, with it's bubbly thickness that lasted a long time, then faded to a thick lace. The color was pretty nice as well. Smell was of citrus, some faint spices, and malt. The taste is similar, but has more spice in it. It's a very drinkable beer. Very light on the palate, yet flavorful and exciting with each sip.

pours a hazy golden with bits of yeast just sitting stagnant throughout the beer. makes it look almost like a jello beer! alright head that receeds pretty quickly leaving fair lacing. smells sweet with corriander, lemons, and a sweet sugary texture in the nose. there's also something in there that i can't quite place. taste has a lot of lemon with some spices. very creamy smooth mouthfeel. unfortunately though i think that there is just a bit to much lemon in it. an unfortunate side effect that seems to plague most american wheat and white beers. definately descent though. a light bodied beer that i could see having in the summer. this would probablly go quite nicely with some clutch and perhaps a dash of alabama thunderpussy.

Appearance is a bit hazy, golden in color and has a fleeting white bubbly head.

The aroma is of wheat and spice and a bit of clove.

Its flavor starts off mild and watery, then the clove and spice take over. There is a bit of orange in there as well.

Crisp and refreshing with a light body. Goes down easy.

“Ale with orange peel, coriander, and black pepper”

Appearance – bit cloudy, light straw body; finger-thick white lace vaporizes quickly to paper thin; sparse lace

Smell – dubbel-like candy; yeast; orange zest

Taste – light candy, spicy, bit of wheat; coriander and a bit lemon; straining to sense the pepper and it shows late; yeast, tart candy remain for aftertaste and the tartness goes on forever

Mouthfeel – light and crisp; just a bit more substantial than the typical macro; looking for more pop here

Drinkability – easy turnover due to the mouthfeel; the aftertaste isn't too dry and the tartness is a welcome change

I have more homework to do on the witbier but this example doesn’t set the best welcome mat.

Appears a hazy light gold and very unfiltered with heavy steams of carbonation pumping up to the bubbly 2 inch white head that stays for a moment. Plenty of lacing is left behind.
Smell is of orange peel and peppery coriander. Really smells nice. If I would've done this blind, I'd have thought it were a real Belgian Wit.
Taste is of blended wheat, coriander, and orange peel with a peppery finish.
The mouthfeel is a tad goofy only because the black pepper and high carbonation seem to clash during the finish and cause an explosion in the mouth. It's just too darn much going on to get a smooth grip on.
Drinkablity is still good if you can get past the lame-o finish.

Finger licking good.

Fairly weak head that quickly dissapates. The nose is is weak, but has strong soapy hints. It has the basic wit profile, but over carbonation detracts from the coriander. The carbonation adversely effects the mouth, but makes it quite drinkable. This isn't one I'll get, there's too many better wits.

Rocky white head measured in hands, not fingers, stopped my pour into my favorite Paulaner Weisbier glass. Persists and laces well but not quiet to Duvel's levels. Light lemmon clear that clouds if you dump in the yeast sediment. Nice citris aroma. A sweet light taste that prickles the tongue with pepper that offsets sweet front. Mouthfeel is truely great for the style. Stong CO2 beading til the end. Label states "Ale with orange Peel, coriander, and Black Pepper.

Stirs my appetite, having to head to fridge for a cold charcoal steak sandwitch.

No whinning from me, unless it would get me more of this! Spanish Peaks White Ale is a most drinkable winner.

Just can't remember if this is from Evansville, In. or Granite City, Il. maybe even Springfield, Mo (got to keep better records)

Pours out a very hazy and highly bubbly medium orange in hue. Very thin head that dissapated rather quickly. This is one bubbly brew! It looks a lot like a dark ginger ale or something along the lines.

Smell is interesting, citrus, currant, black pepper, coriander and a faint almost sweet smell. Taste follows suit closely. The black pepper is distracting tickling the back of my throat. Citurs is far in the back with the coriander only taking hold in the end note and aftertaste.

This is an odd example of a wit if you ask me, almost to the point you wonder if it really qualifies. The combination of the flavors works fairly well together exept that black pepper, it was very distracting to me. I could see this making a good food pairing with peppery dishes though as the pepper wouldn't matter.

Interesting, but not something that really captures me.

This six pack was in the cut-out bin at Bridge Liquors, so I picked it up. Based on that, I figure it was probably sitting around a while and may have been past its peak. I can find no date on the bottle indicate when it was bottled.

Beer poured a light hazy yellow, with visible particulate matter floating in the beer. I kind of expect that in a witbier, so I was not surprised by that. very low density head with fair staying power.

Smell was spicy, faint cloves and corriander.

Tasted like I initially suspected, that it might have been too old. Warm wheat and spice that tasted slightly stale and cardboardy. I think if this had been fresh, it would have been excellent.

I will look for this again and see if it gets any better with a new 6.

Cluttered haystack yellow with scads of fine particulates. The head is closer to pure white than it is to cream and is a little too soft and fluffy to last all that long or to leave much lace. I have difficulty thinking of SPWA as a witbier after smelling it. The nose is blonde malty with understated citrus and almost no spice. Not bad, just not true to style.

It's sweeter than most wits without being overly so. Citrus peel is more evident on the palate with a roughly equal mixture of lemon and orange. It tastes a little like weak, sugar-deficient orangeade. Again, if coriander is present it sure doesn't reach my flavor threshold. The body/mouthfeel is light with an under-the-radar amount of carbonation. As a consequence, the beer is a cinch to drink.

Light and citrusy, training wheels spicy, easy drinking. Spanish Peaks White Ale should appeal to the newbie and is an acceptable summer quaffer for the rest of us. Just don't expect a classic wit.

Cloudy and hazy bright yellow-orange color, spicy, earthy citrus aromas, nice white creamy head that doesn't last long. Fresh tart orange and mild spice flavors, soft mouthfeel, finishes clean and dry with lots of citrus, a very refreshing and drinkable brew.

The beer pours a pale gold color with a thick frothy white head that fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a refreshing wheat scent with a lemony zest and a dry yeast finish. The taste is decent. It has a very dry wheat flavor with a lemon zest and slightly fruity yeast taste. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a low bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a decent wit. It's a bit too dry for me and it lacks the fruitiness and hazy appearance of some.

Spanish Peaks White Ale pours a hazy orange, amber color, no head at all.
There is a hint of orange in the aroma, some spice maybe.
It gives a refreshing flavor, kind of sweet, the orange is in there for sure, as is the pepper. This is not a thin beer, it is almost creamy yet not too rich. A nice white ale.
A previous reviewer said this is no longer made, this would explain the sale price I got this winter. Its a shame, this was not spectacular beer but I would have liked to have had another.
