Pours a hazy golden straw color with a big soapy white head that left some chunk lacing.

The aroma is of tangerine, pine and minty hop. A hoppy sweet spice aroma.

The taste is of melon and tangerine with a piney finish. Perhaps some mint.

The feel is moderate with fizzy carbonation. Fairly balanced on the palate, finishing slightly bitter.

A bit of a contrasting hop profile. Drinks well enough.

20oz on tap, was pretty underwhelming and I was certainly feeling thirsty. This one seems lost in between a trad IPA and NE style. Haven't had any beer that strikes a good balance in that realm, and while there was nothing really bad about this one I'll not seek it out again with such other great offerings available.

Had a single can at Patrick's in Guilford, NH, cost & canned on date unknown. My third brew reviewed from these guys. Decent brew, nothing special.

Great North Aleworks "Tie Dyed"
12 fluid oz. can, coded "PKG 07/16/18 14:08:19 :]" and sampled on 10/11/2018

Notes via stream of consciousness: So what is this? The label states "Dry-Hopped Pale Ale" but that doesn't really say much these days. It also lists it at 5.4% ABV. It's poured a medium hazy yellow-gold body beneath a full head of creamy white foam. Allowing for the haze it looks great and the head seems to be holding really well. The aroma seems limited for a dry hopped beer but maybe I'll get more once the head dies down. It's hoppy but I can't get any specifics out of it. Citrusy with some tangerine is all I'm finding. OK, the taste backs that up. It's hoppy, as in hop resins, and subtly piney, but the tangerine and some grapefruit are the main flavors. The malt is pretty light, mildly sweetish and doughy, and the citrusy hops balance well with it. A median bitterness then brings it to a dry and gently bitter conclusion. It's not a complex beer but it's refreshing and at least a little interesting. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and delicately crisp. The head has held up really well and I still have a solid, creamy surface covering. Wow, and some nice lacing as well. Mmmmmm, it's pretty nice. I could see enjoying a few of these at an outdoor event in the summer, or anytime really but it is kind of lighter and refreshing.

12 Oz Can poured into glass
Look - very pale straw colored as most pale ales are. A Little cloudy. Large foam head and lots of lacing on glass
Smell - Extremely strong aroma. Grapefruit mainly. Some minor tropical notes from the hops. But mostly just smells like fresh grapefruit juice.
Taste - Basically the same as the smell. Strong grapefruit profile with some tropical fruits (canned pineapple) and grass mixing in a little. Some minor hop resin piney-ness. Not much malt, maybe a little on the back end. It's very smooth and juice-like. Medium carbonation. Not very sweet which i appreciate. Balanced but fairly basic hop flavors. Nothing that is unique about it. It actually reminds me of Sam Adams 76 a lot but with a bit more hop punch.

Overall, well done beer but doesn't separate itself from the average pale ale. It's a very good generic pale ale. I enjoyed it. Grade is B+
