Introducing Baby Bear (with coconut)!
Baby Bear is a stout aged on 10 pounds of freshly toasted coconut per barrel. Notes of toasted coconut and dark chocolate sit on top of a creamy body with a roasty dry finish.
Baby Bear was made from the second runnings of Black Bear, our Russian Imperial Stout. When we brewed Black Bear, we filled the mash tun with as much grain as it could hold. After we extracted the flavors and sugars from the grain to make Black Bear, there was still a lot of flavor and sugar left in the mash. So we ran more hot water through the mash, resulting in a beer that is still full of flavor and lower in alcohol. It's a technique brewers have been using throughout history. It's often called parti-gyle brewing.

Dark brown in color with hints of ruby and a decent sized khaki head that dissipates quickly. Subtle coconut nose and flavor with decent caramel and roast maltiness with hints of earthy hops to balance. Really nice easy drinker.
