Enjoying a 16oz can of this, recently purchased at Great North at $18 for a 4-pack. Canned on 23OCT23....
Poured into a sniftah, it is completely black and opaque; nothing but dark! Up top sits a thin, fine, beige layer of suds, with a light bit of lacing hanging around. Nose is full of dark choco, roasty malts, some cocoa and coffee, and a hint of whiskey. The body is a solid medium, along with a smooth feel going down.
Taste is rich and malty! Has a nice level of sweetness from Bosco-like choco, plus balanced bitterness from dark choco, cocoa powder, and espresso. There are even some intimations of raisins and dates lurking around. Then add in some whiskey action and earthy, subtly floral hopping at the finish. Makes for a tasty blend! Well done, again, Great North! Cheers!
