Tried a few draft pours at Great North this past Friday. Dug it so I snagged a few 4-packs, at $16 each.... Digging in while watching some Olympic hockey....
Can pour into a sniftah.... it's dense and opaque like crude oil; not even any highlights when held up to the light. Has a frothy, fine, mocha-hued layer of suds up top, slowly ebbing down with nice lacing on the glass. Aroma has dark choco, some coffee, molasses and dates. Body is a semi-chewy medium-plus, with a creamy feel.
Taste mimics the aroma, with coffee, espresso, dark choco, molasses and some subtle floral hopping in the dryish finish. A solid Great North brew, and the best Baltic Porter I've had since the late, great Smuttynose Baltic Porter.... Cheers!
