Last weekend me and the Miltman had our annual summer visit to the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. On Saturday (7/10) we were headed south from Keene and decided it was high time to check out Granite Roots Brewing for a couple afternoon freshies.

This small brewery is conveniently located on RT.12 and very close to Franklin Pierce University. They have a spectacular outdoor patio/beer garden area with picnic tables, fire pits, private cabanas and a greenhouse. The atmosphere of the outside is stellar and conducive to a quality hang session.

Like many other bars and restaurants during the past year, it appears this place enhanced their outdoor options as they made sense of all the changing COVID restrictions. There is also an outdoor stage for live music which they seem to feature on a regular basis, this was also great to see. Craft beer, outside hangin' and live music, that's a combination that checks several key boxes.

I really enjoyed the vibe here, set in the picturesque and scenic landscapes of southern NH. As you look around, you can't help but appreciate Mount Monadnock bursting in the background and all that nature has to offer.

I think they had about six or so beers on tap as well as a stocked cooler with their can options. I had the 'Face Plant Into Rock', a Belgian Tripel and the 'Trail Candy', a Double IPA. Beers were served in metal cups with their logo, I assume serving beers outside in these vessels are safer than glass.

The service was friendly, welcoming and accommodating, attending to the needs of a steady flow of customers. The bathroom is located inside and you literally have to walk through the brewing equipment to get there. Bonus points for the Mrs. Meyers soap in the bathroom!

I really enjoyed our visit here and would like to return again next time in the area.
