Had this as my first beer at Saison Day. The name jumped out at me, plus I think sauvignon blanc barrels works so nicely on this style of beer. Pours a typical yellow and gold color, 3/5" white head. Aroma pops hard white grape, white wine, french oak kind of smells in the nose. Bretty and tart too.
Taste was so nice, just the right amount of sourness that I've come to get used to in a saison with wild ale influence, but the brett and wine barrel character to this was so refreshing and crisp. Carbonation being spot on helped with that. Good levity to the base of the beer. Nothing dominated, just a good blend of oak, tart, white grape, funk etc. . .
I would definitely enjoy having this one again. Plenty of green apple and grape notes all day.
