On-tap @ Czig Meister Brewing Co. in Hackettstown, NJ.
Very deep brown color that makes it appear black. Opaque for the most part, but visibly clear around the edges upon closer inspection. Dark bread and chocolate with a faint whiff of smoke. Clean, bready malt flavor. Herbal hops combine nicely to form a well-balanced and drinkable lager. Medium bodied.
Within the past couple of weeks, I've had a Kristallweizen, Kölsch, Altbier, and now a Schwarzbier, all from NJ breweries. Nice to see them brewing traditional versions of these German styles without feeling the need to deviate too far from the classic ingredients or techniques. Keep 'em coming!

5/24/17...dark brown, low foam, white rings. Strong coffee nose, roasted malt. Light bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Opening bitter fades fast. Slightly creamy. Good taste.
