DATE: November 23, 2018... OCCASION: enjoying a drink after the post-Thanksgiving visit with my parents... GLASSWARE: Victory Hop Devil nonick... pours the haze expected of an NEIPA, a dark burnt yellow that holds a frothy quarter-finger of sudsy foam... a luscious grapefruit emanates immediately, with peach, lemon, and graininess... grass, sharp cracker and tea... this has a nice, soft, creamy mouthfeel, as one would expect... at its ABV, moves with a swiftness and a smoothness that is lithesome but buzzing... robust pineapple and mango rip into the tastebuds, with apple, orange, lemon zest and biscuit--a pleasing ale that lacks the dankness of an NE IPA, but coincidentally possesses an acidic, hoppy profile that is sunny, mild and drinkable... does this distinguish itself from others in the DSS? not really...but that doesn't make it much less enjoyable either....
