It pours a brown so dark as to be almost black with thin, sparse head that dissipates immediately.
There's aroma of deeply toasted grains... and not much else. I can pick out hints of coffee, but no more than in your standard stout. There's also oddly a hint of the aroma I associate with milk stouts.
It tastes like a standard stout with the unpleasant addition of a metallic tang and slight sourness. Given that this isn't supposed to be a wild ale, I'm guessing it got infected. I can't pick up any trace of the toasted coconut or coffee promised on the can.
The mouth feel is at least good.
Overall, this is a huge disappointment. Instead of a stout with coconut and coffee - all things that I love - I got a bog standard stout with bacterial infection.
