Canned on 11/22/2022. Poured into a pint glass. It pours a very deep mahogany - nearly black - with a half finger of creamy, medium-mocha colored had and a shin sheen of lacing. It smells of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla/caramel, some dark fruit, and subtle but distinct bourbon. It's bourbon-forward and fairly sweet with chocolate and vanilla or toffee. Beneath are notes of bitter char and just a slight hint of black cherry. As it warms and breathes in the glass the bourbon influence mellows and enhances the other flavors. It's nicely balanced. The mouth feel is moderately thick and creamy with lite carbonation and the 12% ABV is warming but not quite overpowering. The 12 oz. format is appropriate. Overall, this is one of the better locally brewed BBA Stout blends. I had it on draught at the brewery and glad I bought cans.
