DATE: June 15, 2024... OCCASION: graduation done and soccer games won, a picture-perfect day turns to a night with an easy-drinking, relatively new offering from these H'towners.... GLASSWARE: Pilsner.... explodes into the glass with large, swirling bubble, building a snow-white head popping with life and holding its finger thickness with resilience... the body is a sallow golden yellow--looks thin, almost like a macro light beer....the grapefruit is noticeable, as are toasted oats, lemon grass, and pitchy forest hops... it invites with little pretension... its body is light but not thin, crisp but not a true pilsner, lingering but not staunch--a clean, smooth experience that refreshes without imparting heavy impressions or impressive notes... highly drinkable... wet cracker malts, sharp noble hops, bright grapefruit, lemon, and resin downplay--or alter--its style, evoking a mixture of tropical fruits and a working man's lager... it works to its desired effect, though it is probably much more at home at a barbecue or gathering where slamming is preferable to sipping... as a study, it earns marks for its democratic genesis, its accessibility, and its capable flavor...
