DATE: October 20, 2024... OCCASION: another beautiful weather weekend winding down, I set my sights on an awesome anniversary beer picked up at the last trip to the brewery... GLASSWARE: Citrabellum footed tulip... pours a midnight black body devoid of life or carbonation... its ruby-red head dissolves to small, roiling bubbles at the glass's edge... boozy bourbon, chicory, vanilla cream, ash, grapefruit, prune, and an earthiness that arrests the senses... warns that the sips will be metered... its mouthfeel is big, viscous, coating, and heat-inducing--and yet, its finish is silky smooth and pleasant in its departure... the blend of chicory, bourbon, charcoal, merlot and vanilla is agreeable, stately, and savory... stoked that I have three more cans of this--a few more nightcaps to come!
