Served in a pint glass
This beer pours dark brown. It has deep amber to rust colored highlights when held to the light. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves rings of lacing as I consume.
The smell is roasted malt, cocoa, and chocolate.
The taste follows the smell. I get roasted malt and cocoa followed by chocolate which lingers in the finish.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
This is a good example of a traditional porter. There is nothing fancy here, just an old school type of porter.
