a dry hopped pale bock type, and a really nice beer overall, especially for a local operation that doesnt sound like its getting a ton of attention. in my experience with their stuff, they have done an excellent job of honoring the traditional styles while updating them in unique ways with some modern innovation, and thats exactly what we have here. obviously a lager, and boasting some sturdy and fresh tasting german malts that give this some oomph, it also has a fine floral hop complexion and some more bitterness than i am used to from a base bock of this nature. i think the hops go a long way, i wish i knew the varietal(s), but it adds a freshness to sort of counteract some of that classic maturity and aged nature of classic bock like this, more lively and new tasting, but without a huge deviation from what makes the style awesome to begin with and it tastes new and familiar at the same time! not as dry as some, but the sugar that does remain is appropriate. bready yeast, real german, its the last thing i taste, even after the hops. surprised this one doesnt have higher ratings, its real well made and the perfect split between old world style and new school innovation. the hops are smart, calculated, and right on. really enjoyed this one, some of the best i have had so far from wibby! surprised its as strong as it is too, this went down with all the easy smoothness of something half its size. keep it up folks, you are on to something!
