Had on tap at Red Rocks Beer Garden in Morrison
On arrival a 1 finger barely off white head was present that dissipates to a scattered covering and ring around the glass. The body is a lightly hazy solid amber with light carbonation. It tries to lace but doesn't quite get it.
Aroma is a bready caramel with some light nutty notes. A light noble hop aroma and bitterness shows up in the aroma, and it is a bit simple, but I am drinking this outside at 10pm in October so I don't think this is going to warm up enough for me to get much more out of the aroma. What is here is very pleasant amd perfectly on style.
Taste is sweet as usual for the style with an immediate slightly earthy noble hop bitterness. Quite a rich flavor but not to the point of ruining the lager crispness as a lot of craft examples of this style do. For the style the malts are quite balanced between toasty and sweet, and the hops are traditional tasting but a nice reminder that this is American craft with the present bitterness.
Feel is good but average. It's not something I really noticed until this portion of the review which says to me that the feel is perfectly acceptable but not exceptional. Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel that finishes a bit thin. The feel itself is a bit watery but the finish lasts a relatively long time. Decently attenuated but this isn't a huge feature.
Overall the smell and taste of this are perfect but I wish this felt a bit more full and had better head retention. The look is a lot more forgivable than the feel however, and it should have a more defined mothfeel with fuller malts or more attenuation as opposed to a quick watery feeling finish woth flavor sticking around.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours red orange with a tiny off white head that dissipates very quickly. Smells of bright fruit with caramelized grain. Tastes of bright fruit and nice caramelized grain. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

From Beer Drop. No date on the can.
It pours a mostly clear amber with a healthy head of foam though it does shrink quickly.
Smells of toasted malt, some fruity notes, kinda sweet but also dry.
Toasted malt, grainy, semi sweet, some bread, weird finish. Ashy?
Good mouthfeel.
Some good notes here, some, or at least 1, not so good.

Gorgeous amber color with ruby undertones; big head and marshmallow fluff lacing. Toasty malt smell, there's a tobacco emptiness in the taste. Interesting. Velvety feel, overall quite nice.

its always so awesome having the first beer after a little beer break, and i felt like a nice fall day kind of lager, so this was perfect. these guys do a really good job with the lagering, thats their thing obviously, but when they hit it, its always good. this is solid, a sturdy burnt orange color marzen, one of my first of the season (i know i am late by current standards). it has a nice sweetness to the nose, a nutty european flare in taste, fresher than any import though, and with an interesting grainy finish. i get almost a cigar smoke thing, like that aftertaste on your tongue you get after you smoke one, kind of gross, but also kind of a neat feature for something like this. i like how well i can taste the lager yeast through the malt, it contributes as least as much as the grain, and there is a traditional vibe to this, i dont love that cigar thing in the finish, but they did a nice job with this and its drinkable just the same. this seems to be what these guys do best, and i think it stands up against some of the better takes on the style in the local scene here. best when allowed to warm up a little bit. satisfying on a day like today.

Sweet, Malty, Toasty, Lederhosen
This beer is simply gorgeous to look at: Bright copper in color with orange-y hues, a regal head and trailing lace. Some bubblegum in the nose changes to toasty and caramel aromas as the beer warms. Firm, medium-bodied and creamy on the palate with a semi-sweet, toasty, malty, granola base. Suggestions of dark grapes and a touch of bitterness bring some balance, but it's all about the layers of malt here. Finishing quite dry and clean, WIBtoberfest makes me want to break out the lederhosen with a Maßkrug in hand. Prost!
