Pours a nice hazy golden color with a short quick airy head. Smells of sweet malts overpowered by the raspberry lemonade but it still has some beer qualities to it. Very light and crisp feeling and sweet with a kick of raspberry sourness. It's extremely refreshing, even for a radler. Tastes of lightly toasted malt followed by the lemonade bite finished off by the raspberry flavors. It's sweet but tart and it's pretty excellent and nails the style they are going for.

L:. Pours a hazy gold yellow with a small white head and a few small fingers of lacing.

S:. Strong note of raspberry lemonade, a hint of cherry, and toasted bread.

T:. Strong acidic raspberry lemonade, a hint of cherry, and some toasted bread. Quite sweet but fits the radler/shandy type.

F:. Light body, tingly carbonation.

O:. It is sweet but this is a nice radler.

Very refreshing and chuggable craft brew. You can mess around and send a 6 pack, which is a shame considering this is the arnold palmer of the beer world

Look: Hazy yellow with a slight orange tint; mellow head that goes away quickly; no visible carbonation.

Smell: Strong notes of raspberry and roses with undertones of lemon and other mixed floral scents

Taste: Very sweet with a dominant, candy-like raspberry flavor; floral notes; strange medicinal undertone; sweet, slightly shrimpy (?) aftertaste; doesn't really taste much like beer...

Mouth Feel: Very light, watery feel with moderate, fine-grain carbonation that quickly dissipates.

Overall: I must concede that I am not the biggest fan of overly sweet/fruity beers. While I love the flowery nose and refreshing drinkability, I found the flavor to just be too sweet to the point that I didn't even finish half of my glass. For anyone who can stand the sweetness, though, this would be a very nice, aromatic Helles for summer session drinking.

i am generally not a fan of a brewery taking one of its staple beers and bastardizing it with some fruit or whatever. it always seems like a reach, a marketing ploy or something, but this is better than most, and the raspberry element in there along with the lemon makes a lot of sense. the smart thing is that there isnt too much of it, the helles lager underneath is still the main point, but the lemonade aspect just gives it a lighter summery tweak that isnt out of place or forced. the lemon seems natural and tart, and it cuts the somewhat hearty grain base just right, while the raspberry adds a little sweetness, but also seems real natural, somehow harmonizing with the lager yeast here for something quite rustic despite its modern fusion. the fact that its still real simple and direct lends to high drinkability, and the perky carbonation is important to keep it that way too. these guys are making some really nice beers right now, i need to find time to get up to their taproom and dig a little deeper, but everything i have had so far has been well ahead of expectations. nicely done here, wise to tread lightly with something as polarizing as a fruity radler...

Wibby's take on a traditional radler blends their Helles with a splash of raspberry lemonade. 12oz can from the brewery.

Pours with a slight haze and a creamy white lace. Smells like powered drink mix. Opens up very light on the palate with low carbonation. Malty, bready base that's slightly sweet with notes of raspberry, limes and semi-tart lemonade. Like most radlers, while the base is beer the beer gets lost in the blend. And that's okay, because it's a radler. Finishes dry, lemony and moreish.

I'd love to see more carbonation and the raspberry lemonade ratio dialed back just a bit, but overall Lightshine Radler is refreshingly crushable.
