this is their normal dunkel spiked with ozo coffee, special release at the brewery, and definitely my favorite of the beers we had when we visited. its not super heavy on the coffee, its an accent only in the nose and the taste, and as balanced and drinkable as this is, i could also see it being awesome with even more coffee. the roast thats added from it is nice, giving the dunkel a little more depth and bitter finish to balance some of the caramelized malt sweetness this normally has at the end. the coffee selected is nice too, just right for these flavors, some raisin and fig notes coming out, a toasted element, and really smooth in feel. at the same time i sort of wish for more coffee, i also find myself glad that they didnt overdo it, leaving the base dunkel as the focal point, because it really is a great example of the style. the coffee is a nice touch to this, something they might want to consider adding as a full time beer, its different enough and really tasty. its got a ton of body and not quite enough carbonation for this to be considered easy drinking in the conventional sense, but its really well made and a great beer overall. not sure ive seen coffee in this base style before. it really works!
