From recent notes on a trip to Boulder, Colorado. Poured into a medium sized, shaker style kitchen glass. Pours a light to medium hazy, reddish amber with a two finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, citrus and dank hops, mixed tropical and citrus fruit. Flavor is biscuit and lager malt, citrus hops with nice dankness, diverse amalgamated mixed tropical, citrus and melon fruit. Pleasant IPA level citrus and dank bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess, nice mouth feel. It's been a while since I've had an IPL and I was expecting a hopped up APA on my first sip, but was quickly pleased by the quite malty, very lager style base with a healthy hop bitterness. It was hard to parse out the fruit flavors probably due to the wide variety of hops used in this; a good combination of continental and North American hops types. This is apparently a series that uses different hop bills in each incarnation and if I lived in Colorado, I'd definitely be following this one. Well done.
