16oz. can into Night Shift stemware.
Nice pour. Nose is citrus, cantaloupe and mango. Sweet. Decently aromatic. Beer opens very sweet. Big citrus, cantaloupe and cane sugar notes up front. A touch of resin-y and tree sap hop bitterness for balance but ends up just adding to the huge malt body. Finishes dry with a sprinkling of bark and hop bitterness. This is too too sweet. Body is medium with moderate carbonation. Prickly and lively in the mouth and goes down syrupy and dry with a lingering aftertaste. A touch heavy.
This beer tastes like someone tried too hard to make a bold NE IPA. Too sweet with no balance and a very heavy body. Not for me.

A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden/range color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of tropical fruits, some pine. Taste is pine, plenty of alcohol, significantly bitter, a bit unbalanced. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

This harkens back to the golden age of pre NEIPA doubles, with a see through amber body, slightly tropical gone pine nose and a phenomenal bitter tropical plus slight dank onion taste, all delivered in a delightful quasi-syrupy body that was par for the course for most doubles until NEIPA became a thing. Alcohol is pretty well hidden until a slightly hot finish that leaves primarily a sweet bitterness on the tongue. This really is a pretty nice beer.
