Got in a BIF from ozzylizard. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. A great milkshake cream ale? Pours moderately hazy golden orange color, great head retention and spotty soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas of big vanilla, ice cream, fruity sprinkles, grain, herbal hop, some yeast earthiness. Taste of big vanilla, ice cream, cake batter, fruity sprinkles, cracker, pine, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate pine, herbal, grassy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body. Creamy/bready malt and lactose, lingering sticky resinous hop drying on the finish. Minimal hop astringency. A little too bitter in my opinion, but the flavors reminded me a lot of a cream ale on grain and yeast flavors. Plenty of lactose/vanilla dessert character. Mild increasing warmth of 7.5% after the finish. No complaints.

Good brew. Super vanilla and birth cake elements here with some general ale characteristics. The non vanilla aspects are hard to pin down. Unsure about the hop content or what's going on. It's clear this one is not a sour, nor is it a Belgian. An ale is apt though this one has been aged so it doesn't have much fresh hop aspects though it does have a relatively pilsner like dry hopped character. Color is like a cream soda so it's apt to compare it to a cream soda ale with some dry hopped characteristics. Not too crazy as the sprinkly confetti cover might convey, but it definitely matches up with those aspects in conjunction with being a proper hearty hop laden beer.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Slightly hazed medium golden amber pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head. Great lacing.

S: Biscuity grains and sweets. Vanilla with a little spice. Lightly hopped giving some earth and tea. Lactose... not much bitterness to balance. Medium bodied and well carbonated.

O: A sweet lactose-y birthday cake brew. They hit what they were aiming for... and given the sweetness about 1/2 a can would have been perfect. Nice change of pace.

I'm sharing one of these with my son in law to celebrate my grandson's birthday. He's not old enough to join in. Soon enough.

It pours yellow, with some nice fizz. The aroma is of vanilla over ale. The taste is very sweet, almost like a ginger ale. All this with a nice clean sweet finish.

Recommended.

Poured into narrow tulip pint glass color is gold, slight haze, off white head presents 1/4 inch thick and dissipates to a ring and spots, no lacing.

Smell is biscuit, crackers, vanilla, lactose sweetness, seemingly combining for a cake batter type aroma.

Taste follows aroma with biscuit like malt with crackers, vanilla, lactose - not overly sweet and lighter than anticipated, even finishes more like a sweet blond ale; abv is hidden well.

Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate sweetness but not overdone for this spin on an ale, moderate bitterness with a lingering bite.

Overall well done take on this flavor - lactose, vanilla, and malts combine well to create rendition of cake flavored ale while not being overly sweet.

It's got to be somebody's birthday, so now's a good time to empty a pint can of this stuff into a clear glass liter mug. It’s a hazy orange-amber color with a thick white head. The smell is a sweet starchy vanilla, not that far off from a vanilla cake batter. Before the first taste, good glass lacing is observed as the head ebbs. This drinks much like a vanilla cake tastes. It's sweet, but not horribly so, with a starchy vanilla flavor. This certainly isn't for everyone, but it is true to its promised delivery. The lactose helps make this a smooth and good bodied brew and that is from someone that usually dislikes lactose in an ale. Ale purists will want nothing to do with this, but as a desert beer, this is one of the better ones. No hint of the ABV, nor bitter hops, so this is another one for those that don't like the taste of a good ale.

Canned on 1/5/21. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a golden with a little haze to it; fluffy white head that falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are malt forward with lots of crackers and fresh bread. Hints of vanilla. Subtle floral notes as well. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. More crackers and fresh bread. Some grains. It's not as sweet as you might think. There's even a subtle bitterness going on. The vanilla does its thing without dominating. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy, slightly creamy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a pretty solid brew. It drinks like a real beer and not all sweet and messy, which is a good thing. It has some blonde ale characteristics. It's slightly unique and different, and I don't mean that in a bad way. It becomes more enjoyable the more you get into it. Not bad at all. I like it.

L: Deep gold. Super creamy, cloudy head. Hazy as well.

S: Big malt backbone with sprinkles, vanilla, and cream.

T: Barley and wheat, with light hops and vanilla. It's more sweet than anything, but still easy to drink.

F: The weight is perfect relative to it's ABV. The lactose gives it a creamy, bready appeal.

O: It is a fine ale before the adjunct ingredients. After? Not so much... I personally wouldn't drink another one.
