Poured into a goblet: color is dark copper, head is off white to light tan with fine bubbles, head presents 1/2 inch thick and dissipates to solid top with some lacing.
Smell is fairly thin, light - some malt sweetness, some oak barrel notes, hint of cherry.
Taste has more depth - neutral malt sweetness, barrel qualities immediately with vanilla, oakiness, hint of rummy sweetness, then cherry on the finish that dries it out.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate/strong sweetness which is not so much from malt but from the barrel and cherry flavors, then moderate bitterness and drying from the strength.
Overall an interesting ale with flavors delivered as described - sweeter malt, barrel notes, light cherry; and decent presence and aroma.
