16oz can into a pint glass. NO freshness dating.
Looks good in the glass. The darkest brown before it gets black body. Nice foamy tan head which shrinks to a ring and faint covering leaving scattered lacing.
Aroma is a bit muted. Some roast and a malty goodness.
On tasting, far more flavorful than the nose would suggest. Quite roasty, but a smooth roast. Strong malt body, refreshing, then finishing with a dryness.
Mouth between medium and full, finish roasty and a dryness right at the end.
Overall, pretty good schwarzbier. Clean, well brewed, abv at an approachable level.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is solid black, head is tan with frothy mix of bubbles, and presents 2+ fingers thick, nice lacing, solid top lingers well.
Smell is light roast, light chocolate, not quite as smooth as some German versions but definitely enticing.
Taste is blends the roast/chocolate malt well, base malt is hidden some from the roasted bitterness and or crisp bittering hops, but taste is not quite smooth, but still tastes pleasant.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate bitterness, low/moderate sweetness, crisp lingering finish.
Overall a quite solid schwarzbier - nice roast/chocolate malt flavor mix, a little rough and more ale like in that way but crisp and pleasant as a mix it up summer lager.
