16oz can into a dimpled mug. As usual with RR, the freshness dating is illegible.
Looks good though. Dark reddish amber body with a small off white head. This shrinks to a collar, with some specks of lacing.
Good honest caramel malt aroma.
On tasting, my kind of doppelbock. Strong caramel malt and leaning towards the sweeter end. Full flavored, but the abv is well hidden.
Mouth full, finish sweet.
Overall, nice interpretation of the style, if a bit more sweet, which works for this palate.

Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet: color is amber, slight chill haze, head is tan and presents 1 finger thick, head dissipates to a thin solid top with some spotty lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is caramunich, raisins, dark fruit, toast, no hops.
Taste is similar - caramel/munich malt, raisins, dark fruit, toast, bread, deep sweetness and depth of malt, light hops and bitterness; no hint of the 9.0% abv.
Mouthfeel is lower carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness; deep maltiness but not overly sweet or cloying.
Overall a really excellent strong doppelock with big malt, balanced bitterness but not cloying or overly sweet.
