Taste is toasted peanuts, with an undesired slightly burnt note to it. In addition, there is a slightly metallic finish. This beer is better than I’m making it sound, I assure you. Overall though it is quite a tasty, malty offering, which I’m definitely into.
What I’m not digging is this new Rusty Rail logo. Yikes!

Poured into a pint glass: color is dark amber head is light tan with mixed frothy bubbles, head presents one finger thick, dissipates to a solid top with frothy head on the sides.
Smell is slightly hop forward with grass and herbal notes, malt is toasted and nutty with more hop on the finish.
Taste is more malt forward with toast, nutty, bread, light caramel, hops balance with more grass and herbs.
Mouthfeel is moderate/low carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness.
Overall a very good and drinkable brown ale - pleasant hop forward aroma and to style malt depth.
