Canned 02/27/19.
A hazy, mango golden color, with about a half finger of creamy white head that rises to the top. The lacing is even and clings desperately to the inside of the glass.
Tropical mango and candied grapefruit greet the nose. Pineapple aromas form the backbone and is present throughout. Not much of a hop presence, just a sweet, fruity, inviting nose to this beer.
Immediately notice a nice contrast in the flavors. Pineapple surges to the forefront, and compliments mildly piney, predominantly floral hops. A subtle tropical presence softens the blow slightly, but the great contrast between nose and flavors really doesn't even need any softening. As the beer opens you really get an emergence of grapefruity flavors and more influence from the oats.
Mouthfeel is nice, medium bodied with a slight mouth coating. The carbonation is surprisingly high and sharp, but not overwhelming or detrimental. Goes down smooth, great finish. As it opens up and warms a little, those flaked oats really impart a great soft, creamy texture.

16oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a ultra hazy, orange and straw yellow body, one finger white head, good retention, bits of lacing. Smell is juicy citrus, overripe grapefruit, a bit of canteloupe, and mild caramel sweetness. A bit of biscuit as well. The hop aromatics are heavy on this, with a mild malt balance. Flavour is a fairly solid juicy citrus and grapefruit, light melon, touch of spices and a bit of caramel on the backend, slight heat lingering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, substantial with a bit of spice and heat on the finish. A solid attempt at a NE style hoppy beer, but doesn't quite get there. There is a bit much heat, and a not insubstantial portion of the hop aromatics don't seem to translate on the flavour.

Pours a slightly hazy orange-yellow with an off white. Aromas and flavors are fairly juicy: fruits, some pine, fairly soft mouthfeel. I'll be honest: after experiencing so many incredible IPAs from Casa, this did not live up to those. Hopefully the next release is as good as previous.
