Pours a hazed light golden color with a white head A 2 hopped WCIPA is smell of citrus and berries. taste has oranges ,herbal berries, pine and fruit lemon bread. A dry mouth feel with muted flavorless hops some dryness in finish.

Picked this up recently at Gary's in Madison as I never had anything from Casa Agria before. Loved the label (but not the typo!) although I was surprised to see that this was one of their lowest-rated beers. Sure, it's an IPA and I suppose that it checks off all of the proverbial boxes for the style but this was pretty generic as there wasn't anything memorable about this...
Golden and with a light haze to it, there was plenty of carbonation and head to top this off as the foam took it's time settling down. A very well-define ring remained near the top as there were more than enough splotches the rest of the way down. Lots of herbal tea, deep floral notes, gooseberry, and funky feet in the nose as there was some subtle hop bitterness and exotic tropical fruit in the taste. A bit undefined and unrefined at the same time, this had an underlying bitterness and zing that was reminiscent of deep rind and waxiness.
There was booze here as the little that I felt complemented the taste nicely, allowing me to warm up a bit as I worked my way through this. Canned on 11/16, this wasn't a typical West Coast IPA but was more similar to those than other styles from around the country. Full in body and reminiscent of oats, this was a decent beer that was tough to fully pinpoint. I'd love to have more from these guys and will be on the lookout for their offerings when I return to this shop!

From a 16oz. can purchased at the beer store.
Description on the fancy label says "A West Cost (sic) IPA hopped with Enigma and Simcoe." After all the attention paid to the artwork and design it's a little disappointing to see a typo...
But on to the beer. It's pretty ok. Definitely in the West "Cost" style, with hoppity hops and none of that sour fruity cloudy hazy Orange Julius New England BS. Smell is pine and herbal, and flavor is sweet, then bitter without much lingering on except the carbonation. Light body for a 7.5% It would be interesting to try this on tap.
