Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 11/29/23 … maybe not the freshest. Should have checked the date at the store!
Appearance: pale yellow hue with plenty of haze and a thick head of frothy, pillowy ivory foam.
Smell: grassy, kinda lemony hop aroma with a bit of orange as well. Now, this is billed as a “hazy pale ale”, not an IPA, and so I think the lemony character is actually pretty appropriate.
Taste: moderate sweetness with a rather lemongrassy flavor, like the aroma. Also like the aroma, a bit of orange peel comes through. Like the aroma, I think I might rate this beer lower if it were billed as an IPA, but as a pale ale the lemongrass and even slight floral character is totally appropriate.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a moderte carbonation and a decent creaminess.
Overall: kind of a classic pale ale flavor with a bit of a hazy sensibility. I’m enjoying it — don’t expect a hazy IPA here, though.
