75 cl bottle
Pours opaque black, bit of tan lacing for a head dissipates to nothing.
Aroma of fig, molasses, maple, honey, oak and bourbon.
Flavor is rich molasses, mesquite, tobacco, fig, maple, honey, oak, toast, grape, coffee, and bourbon.
Medium body, light sting of carbonation and booze.
Very rich and heavy, slow drinking, and boozy. Interesting flavor. The body is surprisingly light and the carbonation is borderline flat. This is one of two variants, the other being the blue which I intend to try in a day or two to compare. This beer strikes me as an excellent stout in a year or two. It's already barrel aged for quite a while, but what I mean to say is it needs to condition in the bottle. It's not quite there yet. I can imagine all its shortcomings are resolved by simple time. Worth grabbing for sure but hold onto it if you do.
