First the brewpub's desription:
"Triple Chocolate Christmas Stout: This opaque chocolatey lusciousness was brewed with three separate chocolate additions and aged on toasted cocoa nibs and orange zest to complete its complex layers of righteousness. Served on a nitrogen tap."
And My Review:
A: Nearly opaque. A few dark red highlights around the edges.Head lingers a bit, but is very thin.
S: Bitter chocolate predominates. Maybe a little malts.
T: Lots of bitter chocolate. Nice, but not too complex. A little roasted barley shines through before more bitter chocolate on the back end. Would be a great beer for a dark chocolate fanatic. For me, it's a little above average.
M: Thick, presumably from the nitro tap.
D: This stout would fill me up if I had to many. As it stand, though it goes down quite easily and is above average in the drinkability category.
