16oz can

Pours over a finger of pillowy tan head into my nonic. Retention so far is great, only losing about half after a few minutes. Initial lacing looks wonderful. Body is black with maybe the smallest hues of brown around the edges. Looks great so far.

Nose is delightful. Noticeable wood, roasted malt, chocolate, creamy characteristic, a little bitter. A little spicy, almost cinnamon, probably from the wood. This smells really great.

Whoa, big time cinnamon on the flavor, honestly to the point I can’t pick up a whole lot else which is odd because the cinnamon isn’t like THAT intense to the point of being grotesque. I’ll let this warm for a bit. So far good, but I want more depth.

Carbonation is medium, maybe a hair below. Body is a little light, definitely a sessionable porter, especially at 7.5% Some brief notes of sugar, but it finishes crisp and attenuated. A touch of bitterness, but you get more of a spicy feel than anything. The light body is a little peculiar, but I don’t mind it, all together this is great for what it is, a drinkable dark ale.

Appearance turned out phenomenal, one I the best looking beers I’ve had in some time. Lacing was thick as could be all the way down, and the head hardly moved an inch, lasting almost entirely till the end.

Noticing a lot of mint and chocolate now that the beer has warmed a bit. For what flavors are here, they are very robust. Overall the flavor profile does enough over time to get a pass, and in terms of tasting good and carrying a big punch, it passes with flying colors. This is just super good.
